A change for today. I had a really important post set to go up. But, I
wanted everyone to see and digest it. It deserves to be put up on a
Monday, and not at the end of a holiday week. Since we’re going into a
holiday, I figured I’d turn this into a photo day/ dump of things I saw
during the short week.
Full disclosure on me, I’m a bit of photography fan as well. So, you
may see that in the blog from time to time. Some will be my own. This
first one happens to have been shot by another blogger. I absolutely
loved it. It was taken recently, in the Alexanderplatz section of
Berlin. It looks as though it’s from a different era. A film noir
type photo, taken in the 1940′s or 50′s. There was also a driving
rainstorm going on at the time. And, it’s a black and white photo.
Triple win! It’s so well done. It’s already been “liked” by (at posting)
315 other bloggers. He or she has some other amazing photos on that
blog. Feel free to check around, if you like this one. Enjoy!“A Rainy Night in Alexanderplatz“

And, I figured instead of making this just a one-photo posting, I would
post some from my trip to Rome a few years back. These were all taken by
Mrs. Amorphous Thoughts. I’m a photog fan but, I can’t take the
pictures myself though. If any of you want pictures of my thumb, get in
touch and I’ll post those. It’s some of my best work.

- I feel vindicated by this poll I found yesterday. I wrote a post
about what it was like to debate with a Fox News Viewer for 4 hours. If
you missed it, you can see it here.
To paraphrase, I talk about what it is like to argue with a Fox viewer
and how it seems they are in an alternate universe. Which brings me to
my vindication, I stumbled upon a poll done by a professor at Fairleigh
Dickinson University. They asked current event questions of Fox viewers
and others who don’t watch any news. A quick synopsis of the story read
this way, “The
poll surveyed New Jersey residents about the uprisings in Egypt and the
Middle East, and where they get their news sources. The study, which
controlled for demographic factors like education and partisanship,
found that “people who watch Fox News are 18-points less likely to know
that Egyptians overthrew their government” and “6-points less likely to
know that Syrians have not yet overthrown their government” compared to
those who watch no news.” To review, you can know more by simply
wandering aimlessly through life, as opposed to watching Fox News. Check
and mate! The win goes to Amorphous Thoughts.
- Two more things before clearing out for the holiday. This might be the
coolest thing in the world right now (I know I have a new coolest thing
every week). I give you the “Panoramic Ball Camera.” Basically, it’s a
ball that houses 36 mobile phone camera modules. You throw the ball in
the air and it snaps pictures at the ball’s highest point. You can then
upload the photos to a PC, scroll through all the photos taken, and get a
panoramic, 360 degree view from where you threw the ball in the air.
It’s pretty cool, check out the video.James
